Shopping For Credit

You should know this first before going to shop at any department store in this time of Christmas seasons.

This is from the source of New York State Banking Department

Under federal law ,all institution that extend or arrange for the extension of consumer credit must give the borrower meaningful information about the costs of each loan. The cost must be expressed as the dollar amount of the interest or finance charge, and as the annual percentage rate computed in the amount financed.

To be sure the loan or credit agreement you are considering suits both your budget and individual needs, shop around. And ask questions to compare and evaluate a lender's rate and services. Like for instance:

1. What are the annual percentage rate?
2. What is the total cost of the loan in dollars?
3. How long do you have to pay off the loan?
4. What are the number, amounts, and due dates of payments?
5. What is the cost of deferring or extending the time period of the loan?
6. What is the cost of late charges for overdue payments?
7. If you pay the loan off early, are there any prepayment penalties?
8. Does the loan have to be secured ? If so, what collateral is required?
9. What is the cost of credit life or other insurance that is being offered or maybe required?
10. are there any other charges you may have to pay?

These are all you have to know first if you want to make loan for shopping especially today that Christmas season and New years is coming.

The Truth About Christmas

In truth, Christmas is a lot like life.. It's full of contradiction and no little confusion. It's filled with both the good and the bad, with all of the generosity and all of the greed that is so characteristic of our fallen race, with all of humanity's pride and all of its shame. And into this hodgepodge He came, was made flesh, was born a baby in a sheep shed. And nothing has been the same since, not for Mary and Joseph, not for the shepherds, nor for the world for that matter.

Like life, Christmas is a mixture of the miraculous and the mundane. I mean, what could be more miraculous than a visit from the angel Gabriel, unless it was the message he brought: "You will be with child," he told thirteen-year-old Mary, "and give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High...."

Preparation Time

The time needed to prepare the food in relation to the homemaker's available time is an important consideration. If the mother is a full time homemaker, then time is not so much of a problem. But if the mother is working, and homemaking becomes more of a shared responsibility among family members, then, chances are, time for meal preparation will be quite limited.
Much of the preparation time will be saved if:
a. foods used are in forms that require less preparation, like frozen instead of fresh foods.
b. foods that require last minute preparation are avoided.
c. foods that can be prepared ahead of time are utilized such as fruit salads, etc.
d. foods served require a minimum number of serving and cooking dishes.

Food Budget of the Family

The food budget is one of the most important considerations when planning meals. Large amounts of money spent on foods do not necessarily ensure nutritious meals for the family. Many nutritious food items are available at low prices. Example of these are kangkong, camote tops, munggo, galunggong and other similar food items. It is hard to identify a fixed percentage of the income that can be allotted to food. A number of factors have to be considered such as: number of family members; age; sexes and activities. Growing a backyard garden is one way of ensuring a supply of fresh and nutritious vegetable, as well as cutting down on food expenses thereby making things easier on the budget. The larger the family, the greater the need for a budget. In the lower income families, a bigger percentage of the family income is allotted to the food budget.

In some families, a part of the food budget is usually sacrificed for emergencies. If this happens for a number of times, the nutritional adequacy of foods prepared is affected and, ultimately, the health of the family members suffers a great deal.

Growing Strong

It's probably important to add that I love my family, but when i wrote that in my journal, I was feeling pretty trapped. It's just that things don't always go the way you'd like them to at home. For sure, growing up can be hard at times.

There's a verse in the Book OF Hope that talks about Jesus growing uo. It says, "Jesus became wise, and grew strong. God was pleased with him and so were the people." Don't you just want to shout, "Hey, that's what I want"? To be wise, not stumbling over everything in life. To be strong, and not only in my biceps, but also on the inside of me. That's how II want to be!

So, I started to read the Book Of Hope again, the part about what it was like when Jesus was here on earth. He was a kid like me, though I have to admit, he started out pretty differently . . .
